Suspension of the federal gasoline tax is just a band-aid for families that rely on their cars to go back and forth to work. It also encourages people to use more gas for vacations and non-essential travel. The government needs to develop cars that use less gas, reward people for car pooling, provide cities with incentives to build bike paths, invent new ways to travel so that we can save our planet. Anyway, why the heck are people trying to figure out what's in Dick's sunglasses. This story is all over the news! Shouldn't people be more concerned about why Dick's not doing something about high gas prices or the foreclosure crisis? I realize that typically V.P's don't do a heck of a lot of work but come on...we are paying the guy to do something!Why the heck is he out fly fishing anyway...get to work! Lensmaster jeffwend asks Does Obama's Pastor Reflect Poorly On Obama? After much thought I would have to say yes. At first I was torn by this issue. After all how can you be responsible for what another person says or does? But the reality is that this person is more then just a supporter he was Obama's spiritual leader. I think that his association with Reverend Wright will hurt his campaign and that people are going to scrutinize him a lot more closely. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I fully support Universal Health Care. I think that other countries have benefited from implementing these plans.
American's should not go bankrupt from getting sick. The insurance companies have gotten rich from charging high premiums and that has got to stop. Everyone deserves to have quality health care in this country and I think that providing universal care is the answer. What do you think?
As if there were not enough fireworks surrounding the Clinton/Obama debates we are now having to ponder if Senator Obama was the victim of a racial ploy. Lensmaster KimGiancaterino, with a little help from Bill O'Reilly, created a really interesting debate.
I think it was exactly that, a ploy. I would hope that the American public would be smart enough to realize that it is customary and polite to wear tribal costumes when visiting another country. However, I do think that it's possible that either Clinton or someone in her camp released the photo in an attempt to discredit Obama. Or it could be that the Republicans released the photo because they would rather run against Hillary as they think she will be easier to beat! Either way I think that it back-fired because Obama is still running strong. It was a grade school antic at best! What do you think?
Lensmaster BigJim asks "Is The Fair Tax" all it's cracked up to be?" I would have to agree with Big Jim on this one. Implementing a Fair Tax would eliminate a butt load of government waste and create a more fair system. You buy a HDTV you pay tax on it. I would rather have to money in my pocket and be taxed on the things I buy. If I needed extra money I would just cut back on my spending for that month. What do you think?
According to The New York Times, Senator Hillary Clinton's* latest campaign finance report, published on 2/20/08, revealed a Pizza bill of more then $11,000 for the month of January!
Now that's a lot of pies. $350 per day to be exact... See my Clinton Presidential Campaign Pizza Chart below.
Amount Spent on Pizza's for January = $11,000
Amount spent per day = $354.83
Cost of a Lg. 1 Topping Pizza at Pizza Hut w/coupon = $10.99
Number of Pizza's = 32 per day
Now I'm not sure how many people are on the campaign, but assuming 100 people per day eat pizza that's about 3 people per pizza. A decent dinner! Now that's assuming that they are eating pizza EVERY night for 31 days in January.
After reviewing the chart below we might draw the following conclusions:
1) Hillary likes pizza A LOT and keeps at least 1 pie a day for herself.
2) She's feeding a lot more people then just her staff...the homeless, stray Republicans, Bill.
3) She's just wasteful and allows rampant spending. Most likely half the pies are ending up half-eaten in the trash at the Bellagio Hotel.
I am voting for #3. My assumption is that she has no idea where her campaign funds are going, now the question is, does she care?
*On a side note I am not just picking on Hillary, I am sure that Barack and Mr. McCain are spending their dollars on things like Pizza and Donuts too...Hillary just got busted in The New York Times.
