Suspension of the federal gasoline tax is just a band-aid for families that rely on their cars to go back and forth to work. It also encourages people to use more gas for vacations and non-essential travel. The government needs to develop cars that use less gas, reward people for car pooling, provide cities with incentives to build bike paths, invent new ways to travel so that we can save our planet. Grand Theft Auto IV - Best Ever or Big Bust

Grand Theft Auto 4 is slated to be the biggest video game release of 2008. Steeped in controversy this game features violence, killing, guns and sex...Hey it's the evening news!

I have not had a chance to play this version yet but I expect it to be a hoot. Just heed the warnings and keep it away from teenage boys...They'll just have to learn about those things the old fashion way like from school, church and the movies like we did.

Lensmaster fefe just started a really cool debate. Should Cookie Monster eat food besides cookies? After some careful thought here's my answer. The mom in me says that Cookie Monster should probably be eating something more nutritious then cookies all day. However the kid in me says "Gimme the damn Cookies". I think I would be quite happy living on a diet of Mint Milano's and White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies and nothing else so there!

Luke Skywalker or Han Solo?

Lensmaster victoria_neely just started a really cool debate, Luke Skywalker or Han Solo? Now being that I am a huge Star Wars fan I have put a lot of thought into this question. Han Solo wins hands down. Luke is just too innocent and goofy in the first movie. Now by Return of the Jedi he's a little more attractive but Han still wins! I'm not sure if it's Harrison Ford or that scoundrel personality but Han is way more appealing then Luke. Han also flys the Millennium Falcon, wears really nice pants and looks great with a blaster gun...are these enough reasons! Sorry Mark! What do you think?

Would You Rather Be Praised or Paid?

Lensmaster rms want to know if you Would You Rather Be Praised or Paid? I look at it this way. Everyone needs some sort of job satisfaction in order to be happy in the work world. Think about it!

What if someone paid you $25 per hour to work on an assembly line. You job was to hammer a peg into a board. Now this is ALL you did for 8-10 hours a day. You get 2 15 minute breaks and a half hour lunch. There is no deviation from your task, it's a boring and mind numbing job and no one appreciates you! Could you do it?

Yes, you could...for about a month or so. Yes the money is nice, but could you keep this up indefinitely? Probably not. You'd want more. When I was in college I worked at a coupon factory for about 2 weeks. I put 10 coupons into an envelope 1000 times a day. I only made $8 per hour but it got me thinking. What if they paid me $25 per hour, could I do it? I could for a while even if I got paid the extra money I would go stark raving mad. I think this is why these jobs pay so little. They know turnover is high so why bother investing in an employee by giving them more money.

I'm not sure if I need praise but I do need job satisfaction. Maybe it's not so much praise, but pride in knowing what you are doing is worth while. You've got to love what you do in order to be happy. To me that's more important then the money.

Evolution or Creation?

Lensmaster Margaret_Schaut poses the question of Evolution or Creation? This topic has been a hotbed of controversy for Christians, scholars, politicians and soccer moms for a very, very long time. It seems that no one can quite agree on how we got here.

I answered the question as creation but I do think that there is a lot more to the equation then any of us realize. I think that we were created, but I also think that there is a "missing link" out there too. Things that we just don't understand yet. It always boggles my mind to think that the Universe is so large and that we are just a tiny speck floating around in space. What do you think? Evolution or Creation?

Will Fuel Hit $4 per Gallon In 2008?

Will Fuel Hit $4 per Gallon In 2008? Yes, sadly I think that by the end of the year the cost of gas will be more then $4 per gallon. Here in Cleveland it's about $3.20 to $3.45 and I know in other parts of the country it's a lot higher. I think that by Memorial Day fuel will be $3.75/gallon and continue to go up through out the summer. What do you think?

Rock Band vs. Guitar Hero

Lensmaster Botnic poses the duel of Rock Band vs. Guitar Hero. Now I have not had the opportunity to play either yet...hey, I'm getting to it!

Although I am going to have to vote for Guitar Hero based on the fact Slash is a playable character. Even though I an not a big Gun's N Roses fan I do have a fascination with Pop Culture musical icons like Slash. So go ahead ROCK the Vote!

Do You Think Anti-Bacterial Soaps are Creating Super Germs?

Lensmaster CarolSue asks Do You Think Anti-Bacterial Soaps are Creating Super Germs? which is a really interesting question. Today we seem to have way more illnesses, bugs and all around cooties then we did back when I was a kid in the 70's.

I remember when I was in horse camp and we all drank out of the hose we washed the horses down with. That hose was filthy and dare I admit this often times was lying next to a  pile of horse crap. Did we get sick? Heck no! We also drank out of the same pop can, shared combs and never used anti-bacterial soap. So were we just lucky? I don't think so. I think all these cleaning agents are creating super bugs that will one day rule the world and that kinda stinks!
