Pop Icons At 50 - Old And In the Way?

Lensmaster JustBonCrochetDesigns wants to know if 50 is just too darn old to rock. Michael Jackson, Madonna and Prince all turned 50 this year!

If you'd asked me this question when I was 18 I would have said "Pack your bags and move on into the nursing home baby"! To an 18-year-old people that are 50 have gray hair and are called "Grandma"!

However now that I'm 38, 50 ain't looking so bad. Michael Jackson is just weird but Madonna still looks great and I've always thought that Prince was really sexy, even at 50!

The Movie... or The Book?

Lensmaster alienflower asked the question, The Movie... or The Book? and that's a darn good question. Have you ever read a book and been so excited about the upcoming movie only to be horribly disappointment by Hollywood's version? I think most of us have been. I would say more times then not the book is far better then the movie. My only exception would be High Fidelity, but maybe it's because I love John Cusack! What do you think?

Is it better to burn out or fade away?

Lensmaster FamousMortimer ponders the question, Is it better to burn out or fade away? I think that the answer is different depending on who you are. I myself would prefer to fade away. If I was some huge mega-star I would be quite happy to fade into retirement so long as I could live in a nice mansion on the beach!

Our society however loves to see the burn out. Jim Morrison, Marilyn Monroe, Kurt Cobain...These stars burned out in their prime and will be remembered as youthful and exciting. No slow decline, no aging, no geriatric demise. Ah...the glory of Fame!

Lensmaster Janet21 says that "The Miley and Mandy Shows are the Most Annoying Videos I have EVER watched!" and I would have to agree with Janet, these videos are not only stupid but also way to mature for her tween fan base.  What is Miley Cyrus thinking, she needs to stick with Hanna Montana! Lensmaster kab made my day today! I love Family Ties. kab asks who Mallory should have dated...Skippy or Nick. Now I know that Mallory thought that Nick had potential but he was just a Mimbo! Skippy had the brains...he's probably running Microsoft theses days while Nick and Mallory are living with Alex. What do you think?

Lensmaster quippingqueen has got the 411 on TP...or so she thinks! According to her and many other people, "God made toilet paper to roll only one way". Well she hasn't met a Clevelander...I polled 6 people this morning who think that toilet paper should be hung under the roll. Maybe it's a regional thing like how we say "Pop" instead of Soda. Or maybe I'm just full or Horse Dookie!

Audio books are better than the radio

Lensmaster jeffwend says that Audio books are better than the radio. Now while the intellectual side of me agrees wholeheartedly I've got to admit I'm more of a Radio/CD girl in the car. Now maybe it's because I'm only in the car for about 10-15 minutes at a time but I like listening to music in the car.

So while I respect the idea of getting intellectual stimulation on the road I am going to have to say "No Way, MonkeyBrain" on this one!

Pirates versus Ninjas

Arrr! Matey...Lensmaster Chadrew poses the question Pirates vs. Ninjas. Seeing as how I have never met either one of them I'm using television and movies as a basis for my answer. The only Ninjas I really know well are of the Teenage Muant Variety and although they are cute and use the word Cowabunga! a lot I am going to have to say that Johnny Depp as a Pirate wins my vote because he looks awesome in his beard and costume. There I proved the point, Pirates are better!
