No, I Don't Want Bottled Water for Halloween!

This is quite possibly the funniest thing I have ever read. The good folks at Giant Eagle have sent out a nice little e-mail newsletter about healthy Halloween Treats. They included such things as pretzels and pumpkin seeds which are not entirely offensive. Then they then suggest only giving out "the smallest" candy bar possible. Now Giant Eagle has a 200 foot wall of small candy bars available for about $1.88 a bag so that seems like a good choice, however the pretzels and pumpkin seeds seem to be hiding somewhere other then the candy wall.

They also suggest giving out bottled water or juice boxes. HELLO! Besides being extremely heavy (what if the whole street gave out bottled water?) it's just not a good idea to give 7-10 year-old kids a method to drench each other on Halloween. Believe me, they won't be gleefully sipping on this healthy candy alternative, they will be spraying the heck out of each with the bottle. This accomplishes 2 things, having fun and ridding yourself of the dead weight in your candy bag.

So Giant Eagle, kudos for offering candy at a good price but a big fat BOO for trying to get me to hand out bottle water as a so-called treat. Next year I expect a revision to the newsletter!
