Sad News For Local Cleveland Amusement Park
I just logged into NewsNet5 this morning to find out that they are closing Geauga Lake Park and turning it into just a water park. Now for those of you in the Greater Cleveland Area you will remember that Geauga Lake was once a really cool amusement park that was located across the lake from Sea World. Sea World closed a while ago and Six Flags bought Geauga Lake. Well that bombed and Cedar Point acquired the park and it went back to the Geauga Lake name.
I am truly disappointed about these turn of events. Like we need another water park with all them located in Sandusky. Geauga Lake used to be a really great family park that had a charm that Cedar Point lacked. I guess it's just progress. Nearby Conneaut Lake Park also closed last year and is trying to reopen. I guess our kids will never get to experience what it's like to see a REAL amusement park. Very sad.I hope that Kennywood in PA stays open!
I couldn't believe it when I read this this morning. I worked at the park for many years and had hoped CedarFair would be able to bring them back to life. The Big Dipper is a tough wooden coaster to top!
